Description:

In this hands-on 6-day online workshop, we cover the basics of the Python programming language and its core scientific packages in order to enable students to conduct basic data analysis problems and tools that the practicing scientist regularly encounters in his/her work.

No prior programming, math, or statistics experience required; participants will get training from the ground up.

Libraries covered will be NumPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, Seaborn, Scipy-Stats, and Pingouin.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course, and will leave with increased confidence in their ability to use computational tools in their research.

About the tutor:
After completing a Ph.D. in Systems Neuroscience, Dr. Nicholas Del Grosso consults on open-source scientific software, applying best practices to existing scientific computing projects to improve reproducibility, extensibility, and performance. He also develops training programs for scientists in data analysis and software engineering, teaching methodologies from software craftsmanship, lean, and agile. Since he began teaching 9 years ago, he has helped more than 500 scientists and engineers level up their programming skills.
